Who we are
MDL2 is not a company. We are just a couple of guys from Spain enjoying an unexpected success while spending our limited time offering free tools for the e-learning community.

We are hosting over three thousand e-learning sites and we provide service to near 140.000 students at no cost.


Advertising and Donations
You can switch off the advertising on your site (first week is ad free) by making a donation using the PayPal button below or through MoneyBookers.

• 15€ will mean a month without ads on your site (0,49€/day)
• 40€ will mean three months without ads on your site (0,44€/day)
• 60€ will mean six months without ads on your site (0,33€/day)
• 100€ will mean a year without ads on your site (0,27€/day)

If you want to donate via Moneybookers, please use donations@mdl2.com as recipient's email address.

In both cases please mention your site name.

You will have the same hosting, quality of service, restrictions and support.

If you become a full year donor you will be able to use your own theme and your own domain or subdomain on your MDL2 site. We will migrate it for free.
If you make a donation for a year through MoneyBookers you will get an extra month without advertising on your site (13 months instead of 12).

Remember - we are not a company. By donating you will be supporting site hosting and development, as well as helping us to give this service for free to other users who cannot afford it. Advertising income is not enough to keep this running.

Terms of Service
We provide this service at no charge and with no guarantees.
Server abuse, spamming, hacking, piracy and other illegal activities are forbidden.
We reserve the right to terminate and deactivate any site from our servers for these activities or for any inappropriate content posted to sites.


MDL2 Capabilities and Restrictions
You can create as many sites as you want.

Unused sites will be automatically disabled after 30 days without a valid login (only a week if the site is empty).
Disabled sites will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our backups one month later.
If you are an active donor your site will not be disabled.

There are no limits on bandwith or disk space, but our resources are somewhat limited. If you publish very large media files on our server your site (and all neighboursing sites) may be sluggish.

You can create a manual backup and download it, but all backup files are deleted twice a day. We do a full system backup instead of internal Moodle backups.

Please don't activate https login on your site. It will be inaccesible until our automated scripts disable that option once a day.

You are not able to install your own themes and modules, but feel free to suggest anything you like and we will review it. If it is of general interest and well maintained we will install it for all users.

Sorry, but we don't have the time or resources to teach you how to use this tool or provide support for Moodle 2.0. We can only give you an easy and convenient way of hosting it. However, there is a vibrant online community of Moodle users who respond to each other's inquiries.
